I'm getting sick and tired of all these mash-up DJs claiming to be better than other mash-up DJs. I was listening to Girl Talk before Feed The Animals and I'm sick of the same samples put to different songs, sometimes simply for novelty purposes and not to make better combinations. Super Mash Bros? Milkman? E-603? It's all the same! Enjoyable sometimes but still the same. This frustration made me want to revisit the classic album As Heard on Radio Soulwax Part 2 by 2manyDJs.
As you can figure out from the title, 2manyDJs and Soulwax are the same people. Great record, never heard a more danceable version of Lou Reed or The Stooges anywhere else. The samples may be a little older as this dropped in 2003 but the record has aged very well in the last 6 years. Definitely a great change of pace from those who are sick of 2008's mainstream hits, "re-imagined." Check it out!
